Questions, answered

Do I need to install an app?

No. PawDrop works in a modern browser on both devices, with no account or extension.

Are my files uploaded to your server?

On the same Wi-Fi, files normally travel directly between devices. If every direct route fails, server relay starts automatically; its temporary copy is not encrypted at rest and is deleted after 20 minutes.

Must both devices use the same Wi-Fi?

No, but it is the fastest and most private route. Different networks automatically try a direct internet connection, then temporary server relay if needed.

What is the maximum file size?

Direct peer-to-peer transfer has no application limit beyond your browser and available disk space. Temporary server relay is limited to 500 MB per session.

Can I transfer between iPhone and Windows?

Yes. Open PawDrop in Safari on iPhone and a modern browser on Windows, then use the five-digit code.
